Verizon opens pre-sale for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and HTC One M9

galaxy s6 vs htc one m9

Verizon customers can now pre-order two of 2015’s hottest phone. First up are the dynamic duo of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, both of which can be had in all storage variants of 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Here’s how the prices break down for those two:

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Price

  • 32GB: $24.99 per month w/ Edge, $200 on-contract, $600 outright

  • 64GB: $29.16 per month w/ Edge, $300 on-contract, $700 outright

  • 128GB: $33.33 per month w/ Edge, $400 on-contract, $800 outright

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Price

  • 32GB: $29.16 per month w/ Edge, $300 on-contract, $700 outright

  • 64GB: $33.33 per month w/ Edge, $400 on-contract, $800 outright

  • 128GB: $37.49 per month w/ Edge, $500 on-contract, $900 outright

That’s the cost of increased storage and innovation, folks (even if we know deep down inside additional storage alone doesn’t add hundreds of dollars to a phone’s price tag). The device will ship in time for Samsung’s global April 10th launch so you won’t have to worry about missing out on a weekend of fun with your new phone.

Also up for pre-sale today is the HTC One M9, which also launches April 10th. There’s only one model — 32GB — and it can be had for 24.99 per month w/ Edge, $200 on-contract, or $600 outright. Check that one out right here, and be sure to read our full HTC One M9 review to see if it’s worth picking up over its 2014 predecessor.

T-Mobile LG G3 gets Lollipop through PC Upgrade Tool

LG-G3-back-button

T-Mobile LG G3 users are being treated to some Lollipop early, with LG having made the upgrade available over-the-wire. That means you’ll need to use LG’s Mobile Support Tool which is only available for Windows computers.

To use it, simply plug your phone up to your computer and start the Support Tool app. It will recognize your phone and check for available updates — this is the point where it should find Lollipop, which will be build LRX21Y and software version D85120b. Follow all the directions and let it do its thing, and before you know it you’ll be up and running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

For those unlucky enough not to own a Windows PC, we’re sure T-Mobile will push this thing out over-the-air in due time, so be patient. For everyone else, let us know how you and the update are getting along once you’ve gotten it loaded up.

OnePlus DR-1 drone is actually real, but it’s little more than a toy [VIDEO]

oneplus dr-1 drone

Looks like our cause for caution regarding OnePlus One’s latest announcement was a bit justified. Just as they confirmed on Reddit, OnePlus has revealed the DR-1, and it definitely is a drone. Only, it’s not the serious spy-right gadgetry you were probably dreaming of when they first mentioned it.

It’s a toy. This thing costs $19.99, and although it will actually fly for a good few minutes it’s not to be regarded in the same light as something like the IRIS+ Super Drone.

OnePlus is touting this as the world’s smallest remote-controlled drone, though, and they’ll only be available as a limited one time run. Unfortunately the product is already being listed as sold out on their website, and if what they say there is true then there won’t be any other opportunities to snag one in the future outside of something like eBay.

So for all you folks mad that OnePlus was making a new product before shoring up the OnePlus One? Chill out, it’s just a quick little toy that likely took them no time at all to produce and did nothing to take away from the work that still needs to be done on their first ever smartphone.
